Specific Purpose: Provide information on James O’Donnell
We all have a mandate by which we live. One especially confident young man in this class has the motto “Back talk? Back hand.” James O’Donnell is sure of himself, and not afraid to getting into interesting situations. I had a little difficulty getting him to share some of those adventures, perhaps because he is shy about giving information to strangers, or maybe he just thought that they weren’t exactly appropriate within hearing distance of a teacher. So even though I’ve been talking with James for the past three days and trying to wring out any potentially interesting but still appropriate stories, I have a feeling that there’s much more to him than what I heard. Perhaps you should get to know this adventurous, sometimes even rash, but fortunately resourceful young man.
His adventurous spirit sometimes gets James into dangerous situations. When he was 11, James was driving a motorcar, happy cruising along, almost ignoring his surroundings. Then, he saw a car. He tried to stop, as he didn’t want to go to the hospital after a car crash. Unfortunately, he ended up going anyway after flew head over heals and broke his arm. As a result he couldn’t play football for a few months.
Luckily, James had lots of pets to keep him company; four nameless birds, four cats, and an overly hyper dog, to be exact. The names of the cats are very original. The youngest is The Kitten, and then Dowey, then Fred, and finally, an aged cat named Braindamage who has an under bite, and is a little off in the head.
His dog, just a little over one year of age, is very hyper. He’s not big enough to drag James when they are out walking, so he contends himself with barking nonstop.
Besides his pet loving qualities and adventurous spirit, James has the advantage of being very resourceful. When I asked him what items he would want to bring with him to a deserted island, he had a very original answer. First, he started listing necessities. Things like clothes, a mobile home with a comfortable bed, and other such items. Then he paused, gathering his thoughts. And you know what he decided? That all he really needed was a phone with good reception. Everything else would follow.
Another time when James showed his originality was when I asked him “what would you do if you had only a few hours left to live?” The answer surprised me. James’ dream is to swim with Shamu, holding on to his dorsal fin.
James, like everyone here, has his own unique traits to bring to the table so to say. He’s adventurous and a little sly, and though he may be a little quiet at first, but you better not fall for that act. He is anything but.
