about your character/
Name: Bertram Bonhaven
Nickname(s):Well... behind his back? You'll be lucky to hear him called anything nicer than brat. To his face? Nothing less than Bertram, and that only if you know him well. He is the son of the current ruler, after all.
Age: 5
Gender: male
Title/Rank:Son to Robert Bonhaven (military dictator and "Lord Protector" of Britain)
Appearance:Bertram is a healthy looking child, but only in the summer and fall. Otherwise, he looks far too white, even ghostlike. But then again, he spends his winter inside a stone castle, exploring secret passageways and tactics for avoiding his nannies. This useful habit makes for a very pale child. However, it is difficult to look sickly when you are one of the few kids in the kingdom who get three square meals a day in all seasons.
Bertram promises to become a handsome young man with his emerald eyes and healthy chocolate brown hair. But he is still a child, and though not quite overweight, he is anything but slim. His face is still childish and round, and will likely stay that way a while yet.
He has no scars to speak of, yet. He does have a small birthmark on his neck. It’s the size of a pea and is in the shape of a cross.
Strengths:HE'S CUTE!!! Has lots of energy, is untroubled by politics, everyone "has" to do as he says, rarely noticed.
Weaknesses:Is rarely believed, people ignore him, can't sit still, is ignorant about how his life compares to that of other people, is unliked because of his blood and attitude.
Personality:Like any other five year old, Bertram is curious, hyper, and rather loud. Things both new and old easily fascinate him. He has yet to outgrow the stage in which everything is wonderful and boredom does not exist. He still sees the rainbows in bubbles, and can still run around for hours without getting tiered. And like any other five year old, he is always full of questions.
For now, Bertram is innocent... Sort of.
He may only be five, but his freedom and power of his position has already gotten to his head. He is often disrespectful without even realizing it, and he sees nothing wrong with ordering people around. Why should he? He hasn’t started on any formal lessons yet, so mostly he spends his days outside, running, playing, and pulling pranks.
Fierce or hot-tempered, Bertram is usually difficult to get along with. The only people that even get a chance to like him are the castle gardeners and the stable workers. He loves to dig around in the mud, even though it drives his nursemaids insane. He also enjoys being led around on ponies. Sometimes, he even “helps” groom them.
History:Bertram was born to a sorceress married to the lord protector of Britain. He was born as the heir to a whole country. He was born healthy and screaming. And he never wondered about the time before his birth, never asked if his parents loved each other. In his young mind, things were simple. Mommy and Daddy loved me, but they are too busy doing good to notice me.
Instead of his parents, Bertram got a nursemaid, servants, footmen, and the like. He hated them. They were the only ones who even tried to tell him what to do, and for a child used to having everyone do as he said, that was not normal. He went out of his way just to point this out to them. Went so far, in fact, that he went through six nursemaids before getting to his current one. They had all been driven to near madness by the uncontrollable child.
He put worms and bugs in their beds. Died their gowns a sickly shade of green, and even cut all the hair off the third nanny's head. And yet, he saw nothing wrong with his actions. Note, he was not evil. He just didn't see what he did as bad.
The only people that he liked were the gardeners. He loved plants, and growing things. He was also never meen to the stable workers. He loved being in the stables, and he loved being led around on the ponies.
