Appearance:
Gen is taller than most boys his age. At only eleven he is already five foot five and still growing rapidly. Yet, what he has in height he lacks in weight and health. He was born underweight and stayed that way all through his first few years of life, only now his weight is slowly catching up to his height, yet he still looks too slim. Perhaps that was more because of the home, or lack there of, that fate dealt him than his genetic make up.
Gen’s eyes are a cold, dark blue color that has yet to be lightened by rays of love. They sparkle with determination, and on rare occasions, rage. Rarely do they portray hate or discomfort. These cerulean portals are even less likely to show fear or confusion. Fear, is something that Gen ignores. Confusion is left for the eyebrows to take care of. Gen’s total mastery of the muscles that move his eyebrows is uncanny.
His black hair is disheveled and refuses to cooperate with a brush. And his broken nose is still slightly crocked, a reminder of youthful stupidity. On the mater of his skin there is little of which not to complaint. His freckles stand out sharply against his almost paper-white skin. And not only is Gen disappointed with his coloring, he also despises the saggy appearance that gives away his weariness. Gen doesn’t like to show emotions that are not under his careful control. His eyes mostly ignore him, and his dislikes.
Mostly, this child of the streets wheres hand-me-downs that are quite past the age were they can simply be “patched up”. But his Happy-go-lucky attitude does not allow for much contemplation of his outfits. In fact, you barely notice that he prefers to go barefoot, and has extra long robes especially for that purpose. Really, the only thing that is striking about his appearance is the small braid he sometimes has at the base of his neck. Some days, it seams that Gen’s hair is too short to braid. Yet the next day it might be longer than usual.
~If I get accepted as a metamorphmagus~
Mostly, Gen doesn’t dare to use his gift to transform his looks. As much as they are flawed, there is a very good possibility that what he would get with magic would be worse. Sometimes, he tries to darken his skin color. Usually, that works. So, please do not be surprised if you see a purple colored first year in the halls, just don’t assume it was a miscast spell. It is almost defiantly Gen’s gift doing as it’s told. In fact, the thing is very obedient; it just has a very odd sense of humor.
The only thing that Gen has managed to put under his control is the length of his hair. Sure, it sometimes randomly grows or falls out during his sleep, but the important thing is that the first year can grow it back. Or cut it. Sometimes, when Gen’s mood is just right, he can even add a certain silkiness to it that it lacks otherwise. Mostly, however Gen simply pretends that he is not a metamorphmagus.
Personality:
As a street kid, Gen learned patience and cunning. His companions were surprised at how quickly the young boy learned to fit in. The only odd thing about Gen was that whenever he was pressed or in danger, he was always funny. It was, and still is, Gen’s way of dealing with things. His humor is very unique to him. It is also impulsive. Usually, the young boy simply says the first thing that comes to mind. Usually, he gets himself into a ton of trouble.
Before being left in the streets to die, Gen had had a chance at home in a wealthy family. He had had a chance to learn manners and self-control. The chance was brutally torn from him when he was only five. Now however, he has begun to attempt to put his willful personality under control. Gen did not enjoy being beet up for a few wrong words, so now he is really trying to control himself.
Unfortunately, it was his own magic that made him into the cold child he is today. From the beginning, it has been bent on taking care of him at all costs. After watching, helpless, as his friends were killed, he learned not to attach himself to anyone or anything. Even at a young age, Gen realized how lucky he had been to survive in the unwelcoming world of the streets.
Even though Gen’s heart has already felt the pain of breaking, there is still hope for him. Hope that he will become the man he was meant to be; yet even now that hope is slim. His young mind has already sworn revenge upon those that murdered his family, and he is bent on finding a way to fulfill that vow at any cost. Gen is determined that his life should have a meaning. He does not wish to have been saved from death, only to waste his life away.
It is still uncertain however that he will kill to fulfill his promise. Being only eleven, Gen cannot imagine ending someone’s life when his was only beginning. He is not afraid of the consequences other wizards will try to force on him. No, Gen knows that his own consciousness will inflict more pain than any life sentence ever could. He is wise in that respect. Yet Gen is, after all, only eleven.
This young wizard is not one you should anger. His magic, though powerful, still has a mind of it’s own. He has not yet learned to control it, just as he has yet to learn to watch his mouth. If Gen is angered, there is a very good chance that even though he might not want to hurt anyone, his magic will not share his views.
History:
Gen was born to a very wealthy family. His father, though a muggle was a very prominent businessman. His mother came from a long line of purebloods. She was the only daughter of an old fashioned lady who, needless to say, wasn’t very happy with her daughter’s choice. Her daughter didn’t care much. For five years, the happy couple lived with only one daughter. Then, when it became apparent that the girl had no magical ability, Anna, Gen’s mother, persuaded her husband to try for another child. She did not reveal her reasons.
When Gen was born, he had bright red skin and snow-white hair. It was fortunate that Anna had anticipated that her child might be a metamorphmagus and had gone to a wizarding hospital. Otherwise, things might have been very difficult to explain. As it was, Gen’s father was not happy with the news that his child was “gifted”. He was even less pleased with the knowledge that his wife too, was a metamorphmagus and had hidden it from her husband. He left.
Growing up without a father was not difficult for Gen. He didn’t interact much with other kids and thus didn’t really know what he was missing. His sister, however, had more trouble. She was devastated when her father left. Then, when Gen was only four, and she herself barely ten, she committed suicide. Her mother was devastated. She called her previous husband, and told him the news. He put all the blame for the incident onto her. His bitterness against his own family was eventually used against him.
It turned out that Anna’s family had angered a small underground community. Angered them enough, in fact, for them to try to destroy them all. When the knowledge that the last two known living remains of the family that wronged them had such a weakness, they took full advantage of it. They killed Gen’s mother and after getting all they could out of his father, finished him as well. Fortunately, Gen’s magic hid the young boy. The murderers could not find him. As a five year old, Gen became a street orphan.
In his new environment, his untrained talents as a wizard often saved his life. Yet, his friends would perish in front of his eyes, wile he watched helpless and concealed. For while his magic protected him, it did so at all costs, even denying him the use of his own body. Gen tried to fight this curse, but often failed. Soon, people stopped relying on him. Slowly, he was pushed to the edge of the gang’s social group. Slowly, he lost all of his friends. He became withdrawn. With only his magic for company, Gen began to learn to control his magic.
As a nine year old, he lost his last true friend; Jack. It was not without a fight that the young wizard gave up his friend, yet the attackers seemed to ignore him. The young boy had tried to gain their attention, and failed. When he returned with little more than a broken nose to his gang, they deemed him a coward and disowned him. Being thrown out of the only place he could call home broke his heart.
For the next few years Gen survive on his own, training and utilizing his wizard talents as well as those of a street kid. He got respect and territory, but never friends. He did not turn away those that needed help, but he was rarely much of assistance. Gen had trouble surviving as it was, he had no time to help others.
When Gen received his letter, he was ecstatic. For the next few days all he did was gather money for the trip and supplies he would need. Here, finally was a chance at something new. A way out of all the misery and pain of the last few years. When he collected enough money, he set out to find the place he could find his supplies. To his dismay, even there, he was treated as street scum. He has little expectation of Delusion Academy.
