Only Gen is my character. The other is just a random person.
Paine began to get peckish and she turned to look at the river. Slowly, she positioned herself, and waited for a fish to come nearer the shore. She did not fancy swimming, and if one came close enough, she could grab it. That is just what she did with a small trout.
The fae sat down and ate in silence, ripping flesh from bone as she thought about where she could go. There could be wolves anywhere, there could even be some around right now. She thought about this and wondered if any would come by her location as she continued to devour the fish.
Of course that requires stealth, and besides, you can't very well steal fresh meet from under a grown wolves's nose. No. It's actually physically impossible. So Gen prefers to steal from the winter stashes some wolves keep, or humans. But there are no humans in Paradise yet, and no wolf had made anything resembling a stash, so Gen had been forced to live on mice and rats. Despicable.
Which was why he was rather interested in this new smell. It meant that a wolf was near by, and maybe a filling meal. It was doubtful, however that that wolf would be careless enough to let fresh meet get stolen from under their nose. Therefore, Gen decided to go the other way. The "innocent pup" way. Being only three, and having a puplike personality to begin with made this stunt easier. But the fact that he had long, almost ungainly looking legs didn't hurt either. You tended to think 'adolescent' when you saw him.
So Gen played of that, and began making his innocent way up river, splashing and yipping all that time. He pretended not to have noticed the smell of fish, and instead waited for the other wolf to make to first move.
If you think you are getting this, you got another thing coming, boy. she snarled, ripping the rest of the flesh from the bones. Was it too much effort to catch your own meals? It annoyed her when animals were lazy, it was every wolf for themselves, and she was not going to tolerate the creatures who could not stand up for themselves, it was irritating.
If you want food, go and get your own. You can't rely on others forever. What will you do if you get your own family? Let them starve because you are incapable of getting your own?! she said harshly, hammering home the point. She had always been good at reading others, but she still got it wrong sometimes. Nobody was perfect, after all. She wondered if he had any talents at all, but she would have to get to know him first. The only plus she could see right now was that he was young, which meant he would have time to learn.
"If you think you are getting this, you got another thing coming, boy."
Take that phrase for example. True, it could have just been her nature to say that to every single complete stranger that she met, but somehow Gen doubted that. Not that he thought she was one to mince her words, oh no, she seemed like a right angel. An angel that had seen right through the thief. And that, well... bothered... Gen.
"If you want food, go and get your own. You can't rely on others forever. What will you do if you get your own family? Let them starve because you are incapable of getting your own?!" Now that was just too much. Gen hated wolves that thought everything was their business. Those that stuck their noses in everything but got mad when others tried to take advantage of that nose. So instead of the planed, 'oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see you there. Boy am I glad to see a fellow wolf!' crap he had been going to give her, Gen opened his mouth for real.
"Really? And here I thought you where one of those charity wolves that gave out left overs. So sorry, my mistake. It's just, the way you were tearing into that fish, almost inviting anything with a nose, I sorta assumed..." This whole speech was said with amazingly exaggerated sarcasm. In fact, Gen was rather proud of himself. The way his voice had started so sweet and innocent, and ended with just the perfect hint of viciousness, while his eyes grew wide, suggesting that what he was saying was not a near slap, but an honest mistake.

She wandered along by the river, she needed more members, that was obvious. Currently there was only one other and herself, and that would not be able to hold off another pack if someone invaded. Still, that seemed unlikely at the moment, she did not know of any other packs around. The lands were quite quiet, to be honest, and in a way she liked it, but she wanted to get lots of members and build up her pack. It didn't hurt to be prepared.Paine began to get peckish and she turned to look at the river. Slowly, she positioned herself, and waited for a fish to come nearer the shore. Gen had been taking a small splash in the freezing river when the unmistakable smell of fish blood reached him. The splashing stopped. Stilling his body helped Gen pinpoint the origin of the aroma; a little up stream, and very enticing. He licked his chops. Aw food, food sweet food. Perhaps now is a good time to clarify something. Gen can't fish. He never learned. And as for hunting? He hates it. All that running for just a few bites of food which you actually have to kill before eating. He prefers the way humans do it; through traps. Or, if all else fails, to simply take what others have already killed. Or, in other words, steal.

Paine was still digging into the flesh of the trout when she smelt another wolf. A youngish one, maybe, and this was confirmed when the creature in question came into view. Acting so carefree, how foolish it was, she was sure it would soon learn it's lesson, and was also sure that she would not be the one to do it. Too much effort, she couldn't be bothered. Maybe the smell of food had attracted him, but she couldn't be too sure. Best to cover all bases anyway. If you think you are getting this, you got another thing coming, boy. she snarled, ripping the rest of the flesh from the bones. Gen almost burst out laughing when he saw the female's face. She reminded him of the wolves from his previous pack, always guarding what they had, always wanting more. Really, if there was a more pitiful way to spend your life he had yet to find it. But that didn't stop the ones who chose that lifestyle being extremely intelligent. Take this one for example. She obviously had a wonderful knack for reading people. (Not that Gen would ever say that to her face)
