i10.photobucket.com/albums/a149/pallmsprings/werewolfv2.2.jpgSo, I was in an icky mood last night and wanted to draw something evil. Turned out horribly, so I scanned it this morning and worked on it, A LOT. This is what came out. It my werewolf Tatiana transforming. It's not done, but I thought I'd ask if there is anything immediately wrong with it. I don't really like the left front leg or the right back one, but I'm not sure why, any ideas?

umm... lets see the line of the belly is kinda weird near the legs, like it's too high up, it needs to be lower you should probably add some detail on the face, maybe curve the slope of the forehead a little steeper or something also need something on the front paws, where the hands are, maybe like draw the ghost-shape of human fingers curled up or something? the back looks a little overbent, it you look at bothe the head and the butt. maybe you could lower the head angle just a little bit, so it still looks like its howling, but not quite as much? I don't know. that's all i can think off. i hope it gives yo uenought to do for a while, though...

And mom made me add that, but I do think it's a little high.... The head IS a little off in it's shape.... Haven't worked on it too much... THe paws and legs will be drawn, it will be hard though, so I'll do that last. The idea about the fingers is awsome... but sounds hard, I'll try though.... I think the head it too arched, I'll fix that. Thanks A LOT! me liky your critisism.

i don't know, but lisa's sitting behind me right now and she says the head should be a bit bigger and unbent a little bit more. i really don't know. it's fine as it is, but if you have the time, i guess the observation is valid a little bit. i thinbk the tail needs to be a bit longer, though. like it needs to have a tail tip that curves a bit upward or else it needs to be shorter like that intermost line you have.
oh, by the way, just thought to remind you: freshman orientation on the theater lawn from 1 to 2:30 today.

What do you mean, unbent?

i mean the head itslef needs to move a little lower to the left so that the neck bends less

why? you're doing fine. just add some detail to the top of the pants (like the loops for the belt, the buttons, the zipper, the back pockets, just details like this) to make the pants more real and less drawn on.
i absolutely adore the tail.
now, whatever yo udid on the tail, do it again on the wolf's breast. right now, in contrast to the tail, it jsut looks unfinished (which it probably is, isn't it?)
i think you need to rework the shoulders a little bit, though. i just don't like how separate they are from the body. like they're plastic glued on or something. you either need to make that line around the upper leg less noticable (remember what we learned in 3D art in DVC? shade next to the outline so the outline becomes part of the shading yet still stands out) or you can make the textures of the body and leg more similar so that even though there'll still be a line separating the two, the texture will unite them to look like one whole.
i'm guessing you're not done with the face, cause it has really little shading.
oh, while i remmembered: don't most pants have a seam line running down the side of the leg? on the inside of the leg i am sure there's one, but on the outside - i don't know.
enough comments for right now? hope so, cause i gotta go. bye

well, i love the tail and breast, again. though if you want it to be in paints, yo ushould probably color the pants with paint as well, cause compared to paint, pencil looks really washed out. you kind of lost detail on the face, a bit, but i love the feeling of the ears. yet, the shoulders of the front legs probably need to be a little more blended in, cause it still looks like two separate objects, instead of one whole. actually, now that i look at it again, the only changes you really need are to color the pants with paint, and to add some highlights to the face so that some of your awesome detail comes back out again from under the paint. still, i have to say, it's a very good improvement, and it's cute.

Actually I want the pants to look washed out... sorta like she's loosing her humanity..... And yes, it's not nearly done. just the bottom layer

then i think you still need to use some paints, but i would just use a really light coat of blue watercolors, even if it's just a small shade-like stroke on the knees and on the bottom cuffs of the pants, just to give it some simularity. If you want to make it more human life, though, you should probably add some fold at the back of the knees and maybe a washed out stroke of that brown you used running down the heel kind of like it's not hairy-brown yet, but the shadow of what it's gonna be is already there.
well, i don't know. it's your art. i guess i'm just making any comments that i can, so pick what you feel using.

I'd just like to point out that the wolf part is done in photoshop, and the pants in color pencils.... no paints...
